A blog about DADS
With Father’s Day coming up in a few weeks I got to thinking about the role of 'the DAD in our lives'. Families come in many shapes and sizes, and in cases where there is no dad in the formal sense, Grandad might step in to carry out one of the family's most important roles: to entertain us, make us laugh, teach us tricks like wriggling our ears and rolling our tongues, lend us money, give those embarrassing speeches at our weddings, let us go to that concert when mum said no (oops, did I say that?), and kick our butts when we do wrong.
There is one common thing we share when we think about our fathers and that is, without them, our growing up would only have been half as fun!
